Visa - Great News

Khamma has just phoned me to say she has the visa! So the effort, the trouble and stress of last week and the inevitable wait has been very worthwhile.

Thanks to everybody who helped in some way or other (Matthew and Richard in particular).

Thanks to Buddha same same.

  2. Thanks John! Will be in touch soon but I am having difficulty moving away from the side of the pool. Will be a great Christmas with Khamma around, but I'm not sure what she will make of the blow up Santa Claus. Probably say 'Up to John'. Looking forward to getting back. Regards to Diggle!

  5. Congrtulations on the visa! It's always a horror.

My wife Cat's visa was refused on totally spurious grounds and I tell the awful story at Chapter 13 of MY THAI GIRL AND I. I was a bit scared being so critical of the British Embassy but thought it was worth saying.

    A delighful blog as always.

I too remember sticklebacks in jam jars.

  6. Thanks Andrew. The whole process was stressful, but the result worthwhile. I too was very angry first time round and tempted to let 'them' know, but what goes on behind the doors of the Embassy is mysterious and I suppose we will never know how it works never mind have any kind of influence on it. I do think that presentation, attention to detail and tangible evidence of the existing relationship go a long way to helping them decide whether to put the application in the 'YES' pile rather than the 'NO' pile.
